Afro-Brazilian dance is a vibrant and dynamic form of movement that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Brazil's African diaspora. The dance is characterized by rhythmic footwork, fluid hip movements, and expressive gestures that communicate the emotions and experiences of the dancers.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
This workshop is an invitation to tap into your feminine essence for empowerment and self-discovery, and reclaim and embody your Feminine Energy through Dance and Awareness. We will use Afro Brazilian dance movements, somatic exercises, art, journaling and the work with images to help you connect and integrate the energy and presence of feminine archetypes shared by our Brazilian ancestors. No dance skills are required as the workshop goal is help you explore and expand your feminine expression and it will be built from where you are in your transformational journey.
WHO WE ARE:
FACILITATORS: Deise Costa and Yane Barreto
Deise Costa is a dance teacher, professional dancer and entrepreneur. Her work showcases the diverse expressions of femininity. Through her dance classes and performances, she channels different facets of feminine energy, whether it's grace, strength, sensuality, or resilience. Deise's mission extends beyond personal success; she aims to empower others through education and cultural dissemination. By delving into topics like self-awareness, confidence-building, and embracing one's unique identity, attendees could tap into their feminine energy to navigate challenges and pursue their dreams.
Yane Barreto is a psychologist, graduated from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil in 2002, and with a Master’s in Existential and Phenomenological Psychology from Seattle University in 2010. Yane is passionate about helping others to connect with their inner self and essence and heal any trauma that stands on the way. She is a trauma expert and relationship based psychotherapist, trained by Peter Levine and Trauma Healing Institute, and practices as a Somatic Therapist. Yane has over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist in both Brazil and in the U.S. working with a diverse cultural population. She practices at Yane Barreto Psychotherapy.
In order to create an intimate and safe place and allow a deep and high quality work, we are limiting it to only 15 women max.
